Why would people come to Haaltert, of all places, to spend the night there?
Haaltert is a rural village where people speak a juicy dialect. It is situated nearby Aalst, the famous carnival town and it borders on the Flemish Ardennes; it is within easy reach of the E40 (4 km).

In fact, Haaltert cannot only be considered as a gateway to the Flemish Ardennes, Faluintjes and Pajottenland, but also to the land of the Scheldt and the Dender.

Mussenzele is situated at a 1 km distance from the village center and is at
the same time a very peaceful spot where one can really enjoy the quiet.
Horses, cows, sheep and poultry create a genuine rural setting.
One can go for an easy walk, moreover our B & B is situated along a mountain-bike track and it is possible to go for a ride with horse and carriage. The Molenbeek (Millbrook) bicycle route skirts Mussenzele. Every nature lover will like to go and see Den Dotter, a protected natural reserve on either side of the Molenbeek. (Millbrook).

Haaltert lies at a 30 km distance from Brussels, at 30 km from Ghent, 80 km from Bruges and 100 km from the Belgian coast.

B & B Mussenzele lies right in the middle of the countryside. One can enjoy reading a book on the large patio.
Children can play to their hearts' content. There is an orchard and they might be present at the birth of a little lamb or watch a chick or duckling appearing from the egg.
Event: the Ronde Van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders: famous cycle race) starts on 2 April 2006 in Bruges and finishes in Ninove at a 10 km distance from Mussenzele.
